CURRENT STRAINS

Banana Tango

Banana Tango

Sativa

Banana Tango has become one of our perennial favorites, for both its earliness and its great flavor.  Coming to us from Seed and Soil Maine's lineup, Banana Tango has been one of our first plants to finish each year for the last few years.  Reminiscent of the taste of the old school banana taffy candy from our past, Banana Tango is a lively sativa that will perk you up and put a smile on your face.

Blue Dream

Sativa

Blue Dream comes to us for the first year from Seed and Soil Maine.   A popular strain for indoor growing, Blue Dream presents more of a challenge for outdoor growing.  We were lucky this year, with a drought and plenty of sun, the Blue Dream finished well with a great aroma.   Ready for this to join our lineup going forward.

Blue Dream is described as follows:  "Terrible to grow in Maine outdoors! People keep asking for it... Enough! Don’t grow Blue Dream. Yes, it’s really special, and yes our line smells like oranges and camp stove fuel. But no, it won’t mature fully, and it will just tease you all through the end of September and into October with lovely smells until it all molds to hell. “You can’t get there from here, Bub...” but if that’s the journey you want, we’ve got reg seeds for you."

Blueberry Muffin

Blueberry Muffin

Indica

Our third year growing this strain and it has  definitely become a part of our regular lineup. From our friends at Seed and Soil Maine, who describe it as follows: "Rightfully a flagship of Humboldt Seed Co., the Blueberry Muffin is the result of 30 years of selection by Nat Pennington, founder of HSC. It’s a performer outdoors, and very user friendly - early finishing, well-spaced nug for less mold, nice structure whether trained or left au naturale - no floppy octopus vines or overabundant interior branches. Most impressive is that it really smells like blueberry muffins - not blueberries, blueberry muffins. Difficult to see flower on retail shelves though because it rarely cracks 20% THC, nevertheless, it’s a top shelf smoke with balanced anxiety-free effects."

Blueberry Muffin-Pineapple Muffin

Hybrid

Blueberry Muffin-Pineapple Muffin, or BMPM as we have been calling it is a new cross developed by our friends at Seed and Soil Maine. Two great strains crossed produce a wonderful aroma of a mix of blueberries and pineapples. The strain is so new, it does not yet have a name, so we just call it BMPM. It is sativa leaning, with a mellowing out from the Blueberry Muffin side of the cross. Lively and tasty, this is sure to be one of our regular strains going forward.

Buba’s Triad Runtz

Bubba's Triad Runtz

Hybrid

Bubba's Triad Runtz comes to us from Universally Seeded.  A hybrid with a great nose, we have grown BTR for the past few years, primarily for the great extraction yields it has given us, but also for the flower.  It is described by its breeder as follows:  "Bubbas Triad Runtz is a Bay Area Northern Cali special, where the Bubbas at. The next wave of pre-98 Bubba is a hard, pink candy clean gas fuel. This strain has heavy yields from the top to the bottom of the plant, and finishing times vary from 7-9 weeks. If you add this new age classic to your garden, you will never be disappointed. It has minimal leaf structure and an extremely flavorful taste. The new age of candy has begun!"

DankIncense

DankIncense

Indica

DankIncense also comes to us from our friends at Seed and Soil Maine.  One of our gassiest strains, if you want to relax and kick back at the end of the day, this strain is for you.  Described by the breeders as follows:  "We are continually impressed with Dankincense: Early finishing, wide and stout, and heavily perfumed with seductive conifer resin aromas, this plant steals many hearts. Beginning from the ancestral Humboldt Seed Co. Asphalt Plant/ Venom/All Gas OG line, we ‘population bred’ (seed Glossary) our Dankincense selecting for deep color and the frankincense/pine resin aroma profile." Typically one of our strongest trains in terms of THC, known to give an overall body buzz.

Doug’s Varin

Doug's Varin

Sativa

Doug’s Varin is a rare sativa that was specially crafted to contain high amounts of the psychoactive cannabinoid THCV. The strain is uplifting and energetic and considered to be an appetite suppressant, so a favorite of people who are trying to avoid the munchies. People with anorexia and appetite loss might want to steer clear of Doug’s Varin, as THCV may suppress hunger. With an aroma of earthy pine and sweet citrus, Doug’s Varin delivers a clear-headed burst of mental stimulation that doesn’t last long, making this strain a perfect choice for anyone seeking short-term effects.

Heaven’s Order

Heaven's Order

Indica

Heaven's Order comes to us from Oregon's boutique breeder, Annunaki Genetics.  A complex cross created by crossing, Dragon’s Blood Hashplant (Dragons Blood x 88′ G13 Hashplant) x Divine Spirit (Spirit in the Sky x Citrus Sap).  The breeder describe the strain as follows:  "An indica-dominant cross that’s 100% immune to powdery mildew and bleeds red sap! We never officially released this strain, but have been handing them out as gift seeds for a couple years now.  Heavens Orders is a perfect cross combining the best traits of both parents, including red blood from the DGHP. It has an exceptional yield and be sure not to trim off too many branches during pre-flower pruning because even the bottom most branches will stack with buds, increasing the over all yield. This is true for all of our Divine Spirit male crosses- that’s why we kept him. And perhaps most importantly, Heavens Order has a heavy-hitting high. In fact, despite looking like the typical green cannabis flowers, the buds were the first one to sell out because everyone who smoked it was thoroughly impressed with its knockout power and always came back asking for more of this one."

Hella Jelly

Hella Jelly

Sativa

Another great strain from our friends at Seed and Soil Maine, who describe this strain as follows: "More recent entry into the Humboldt Seed Co. catalog. We (Ben & Betsy) were actually on “the mountain” farming with Nat in 2019 when the original Hella Jelly Unicorn was found. It astounded all with great outdoor performance, earliness, and testing above 30%! A star was immediately born, and the S1 Hella Jelly was released the following year - it did not disappoint. Hella Jelly has gotten some justifiable hype, becoming a darling of Leafly as a new member of the “Sativa hall of fame”. So support continued open-source breeding in cannabis, we are very proud to offer the first ever regular seeds from Hella Jelly! It’s the result of backcrossing males from the original cross to the most true-to-type Hella Jelly moms inbred by selfing. Now enjoy reasonably uniform regs or very uniform fems of this already beloved outdoor-performing sativa. Crack a jar and the room fills with candy and skunk. Buzzy one-hit-wonder effect."

Infinity

Infinity

Hybrid

Infinity comes to us from Universally Seeded, a strain that was originally sent to us as part of an Instagram growing contest that never materialized.  A cross between Gushmints and Ice Cream Cake, the tasty buds from this plant pack a real punch, with the nose of Ice Cream cake coming through when you open the jar.  Try it now while we still have it, it may never come back again.  We were very happy with the plant and hope that we might find a few random seeds within a bud so we can continue its genetics.

Jack Herer

Jack Herer

Sativa

We decided to try this old favorite strain this year and are glad we gave it a try. Very tasty buds, small but dense. Leafly describes Jack Herer as follows: "Jack Herer, also known as "JH," "The Jack," "Premium Jack," and "Platinum Jack" is a sativa-dominant marijuana strain that has gained as much renown as its namesake, the marijuana activist and author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes. Combining a Haze hybrid with a Northern Lights #5 and Shiva Skunk cross, Sensi Seeds created Jack Herer hoping to capture both cerebral elevation and heavy resin production. Its rich genetic background gives rise to several different variations of Jack Herer, each phenotype bearing its own unique features and effects. Leafly reviewers tell us that Jack Herer’s effects include feeling energetic, creative, and uplifted. However, consumers typically describe this 55% sativa hybrid as blissful, clear-headed, and creative. Jack Herer was created in the Netherlands in the mid-1990s, where it was later distributed by Dutch pharmacies as a recognized medical-grade strain. Since then, this spicy, pine-scented strain has taken home numerous awards for its quality and potency."

Jelly Donut

Jelly Donutz

Hybrid

Another great strain from our friends at Seed and Soil Maine, who describe this strain as follows: "If you must pick just one photoperiod plant, this is (still) the one. Hella Jelly met the Emerald Cup winning White Runtz cut and was hunted twice in the Humboldt outdoors, worked with fem-only lines and self pollinations, blazing swiftly to a seed line uniform for extreme earliness and heavy frost. Under our stewardship in Maine, we’ve selected the hardiest and the results are... highly marketable. Have your dry space prepped in September and make sure to sample the bright herby early chop, but for maximum THC keep your fingers crossed for fair skies into early October. The candy terps are strong with this one, but never cloying, thanks to a silky clean gassiness from the Gelato deep in its Runtz lineage."

Jelly Gazzurple

Jelly Gazzurple

 Hybrid

Another great strain from our friends at Seed and Soil Maine, who describe this strain as follows: "On a whim (because of a failed pollen donor in a ‘23 R&D chamber) we used a very frosty Gazzurple specimen on a suite of favorites. What a lucky whim, and hats off to HSC for the new-school fire that is Gazzurple! Everything it touches turns to sparkly grease - and the subtle character of pure Gazzurple gets mostly out of the way for the aroma high notes of our staple strains. The three strains covered by this description are each utterly distinct despite being sisters from another mister. Read up on Midcoast Mojito, Jelly Spice, and Pineapple Upside Down Cake - then use your imagination to splatter Gazzurpley grease all over them. We don’t release first generation outcrosses lightly - it’s kind of a cheating shortcut to a “new strain” but these were pure magic in our ‘24 garden, so it feels rude not to offer them."

Northern Lights

Northern Lights

Indica

A classic strain from Sensi Seeds, Northern Lights is one of our favorite strains of all times.  A solid indica with legendary beginnings, we grew two of these beauties this year, with a great yield both for flower and extracts.  Leafly describes the strain as: an indica marijuana strain made by crossing Afghani with Thai. Northern Lights produces euphoric effects that settle in firmly throughout the body, relaxing muscles and easing the mind. Consumers say this strain has a pungently sweet and spicy flavor profile that is smooth on the exhale. Medical marijuana patients choose Northern Lights to help relieve symptoms associated with depression, stress, pain and insomnia. Northern Lights stands among the most famous strains of all time, a pure indica cherished for its resinous buds, fast flowering, and resilience during growth. This strain has given rise to famous hybrids like Shiva Skunk and Super Silver Haze. Rumor has it that Northern Lights first sprouted near Seattle, Washington, but was propagated out of Holland after 1985 at what is now Sensi Seeds.

Pink Power

Pink Power

Hybrid

One of our recurring favorites since we started growing it four years ago, Pink Power, also known as Pink Powerz, comes to us from Universally Seeded.  A cross between Pink Runtz and Berry White (which is in turn a cross between White Widow and Blueberry).  The flavor profile and effect of this flower makes it a favorite for daytime activities, great for a wake and bake.  Dense nugs deliver a smooth and uplifting buzz without being too edgy.

Portofino

Portofino

Indica

Portofino is our most consistent strain, coming to us from Afficionado French Conection Seeds. The legendary breeder Leo Stone created Portofino strain is an Indica-dominant hybrid created by crossing Cherry Noir #18 with Black Lime Reserve #9 x zkittles BX1.  Made in 2017, these gems were tested for a full two years before greenlighting for release. The breeder describes their target in creating Portofino's new bouquet as simple: "A spilled glass of Cabernet next to a leaking gasoline tank. The phenotypes will express predominantly, vivid tones of crushed fermenting grapes wrapped around a tightly wound core of chemical and petrol notes."

Space Sherbert

Space Sherbert

Hybrid

Space Sherbert comes to us from Universally Seeded.  A descendant of Unicorn Sherbert, one of our favorite strains from the past, Space Sherbert is a cross between Space Runtz (Runtz X Candy Rain) X Unicorn Sherbert (Sherbet X Kurple Fantasy). It's breeder descibes it as follows: "Space Sherbert is a fantasy creature that wants to show you another side of the world. It’s breath smells like a thousand perfect fruits from all of the fields and forests we know, and from more magical lands on the border of the real and the imaginary. Deep within its center you can almost taste some few fruits that have never existed anywhere at all. Ride on its back over the rainbows of to its fantasy homeland, and feel time stretch out before you for as long as you wish to stay dreaming. Space Sherbert is heavily resinated and oiled, is high in terpenes, and can have a pheno time of 60 days. An easy, full, and consistent growee that will work its magic for the pure and the hunters of rare beasts alike. Space Sherbert does not show up every day, make sure you don’t let this one slip your lead."
